Inspired by the originality and innovation of cultural elements, the Cultural and Creative Industry embodies commerce with large scale production and great market potential that produces high value-added products from high-tech and intelligent processing. 

It is one of the key beliefs behind Creative Industries, an originality-focused emerging industry providing cultural, aesthetic, intellectual and entertainment products from the most venerated and innovative fields.

Beijing has developed its cultural and creative industry for many years, and now has formed nine businesses involved in Cultural and Art Services, Press, Publication and Publishing Services, Radio, TV and Film Services, Software and IT Services, Advertisement, Conference and Exhibition Services, Artwork Production and Sales Services, Design Service, Cultural, Recreational and Entertainment Services, and Stationery Equipment Production, Sales and Other Supporting Services.

After ten years of development, the industry has become the second largest pillar in Beijing, and has begun to play a more important role in Beijing’s industrial upgrading and international regard. 

Beijing cultural and creative industry itself generated a total income about 1.35 trillion yuan ($194.34 billion) in 2015,up 14 percent year-on-year. Assets totaled 2.01 trillion yuan, up 20.6 percent year-on-year and personnel reached 1.22 million, up 6.2 percent year-on-year. Beijing’s cultural and creative industry has a realized added value of 318 billion yuan, accounting for 13.8 percent of the capital’s GDP and representing an increase of 0.6 percentage points year-on-year, the highest across the country.
